On May 22nd, 2020 I released the new Marc Jonson single "Across The Night" on Applehead Records.

"From the day she first set sail, the SS United States has been an inspiration to millions the world over. Many musicians, in particular, have been moved to write stirring compositions dedicated to the Big U. Artists from the worlds of jazz, classical, folk, and other genres have penned their own tributes. (We recently shared GVH’s “The United States” on this very blog.)

Today, we’re excited to share the new single by singer-songwriter Marc Jonson, entitled “Across the Night.” The sweet, shimmering, and incredibly catchy tune clocks in at 3 minutes and 31 seconds. It is an ode to the SS United States’ rich history and cultural status, punctuated by the hope that she will one day find a safe, permanent home.

Now she’s in retirement
Some say it’s a predicament
She’s got to find a way again
Remain near shore
Somewhere that’s permanent
